Apparently, based on some stuff I was browsing online (don’t judge my late-night internet adventures!), these “overrun” bags are, like, supposedly authentic Givenchy bags, but… not quite *official* official? I saw one ad, like, “GIVENCHY Authentic Overrun With Carecard and Dustbag Large size Pre-order Php 2,300.00.” Which, if my currency conversion is even remotely right, is a *screaming* deal. Too good to be true, maybe?
Here’s where it gets a little…sketchy. My gut tells me “overrun” might mean they didn’t pass some kind of quality control. Like maybe a slightly crooked stitch, or the leather isn’t *exactly* perfect. Or… who knows, honestly? It could also mean they’re, you know… *ahem*… unauthorized copies. I mean, the internet is a wild place.
Look, I’m not saying everyone selling these things is a scammer. Maybe there *are* legit overruns that fell off the back of a truck (figuratively speaking, people!). But you gotta be *suuuper* careful. I mean, if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and costs a fraction of a real Givenchy duck… it’s probably not a real duck. (Or, you know, a Givenchy bag).
I saw another site talking about finding Givenchy bags on FARFETCH, which, okay, is legit. But then there’s the whole “pre-owned” thing, which is totally different. Pre-owned is fine, as long as you’re cool with someone else having loved on it first. It’s the “overrun” thing that’s got me raising an eyebrow.
