And the designs! Ugh, the Turin-whatever Chelsea boots for dudes? Kinda hot, not gonna lie. And those Astaire loafers? Classic, but like, in a “my grandpa wore these…but made them cool” kinda way. And don’t even *get* me started on the padded, nappa leather sliders. Like, *so* comfy looking. But…are they, like, *actually* worth the price tag that’ll probably make my credit card cry? Mytheresa is calling it “Shoesday” on their website, and I am not sure whether this is a good marketing campaign strategy lol.
Then there’s the sneakers. Vulcan, Pillow, Plat…are these pokemon? Anyway…leather, cotton, metallic lurex… Okay, lurex? I’m getting flashbacks to my grandma’s Christmas sweaters, but hey, maybe they’re pulling it off. Bottega’s got that whole “effortlessly chic” thing down, even if it requires a small loan.
I read somehwere that they’re made in Italy, which, duh, is supposed to be a selling point. “Made in Italy” equals quality, right? Usually. But, like, sometimes I wonder if it’s just a fancy label and the actual shoe is held together with super glue. Just sayin’.
