First things first, if you’re a coding whiz, you could totally roll your own. I saw this article (seriously, somewhere on the web, I swear!) that talks about using Winforms, WPF, and C# to build a file explorer clone, tabs and all! And get this, it even boasts about a super-duper fast parallel file search. Sounds intense, right? Probably a buttload of work though. Like, a serious commitment. Unless you’re really into that kinda thing. I’m not, personally.
Then there’s the whole Android angle. So, apparently, there’s this thing called “rclone explorer” for Android. It’s kinda like… a file explorer, but based on rclone, which is, like, a command-line program for managing files on cloud storage. Got it? Good. Anyway, you can grab the APK and install it, but only if you’re running Android Lollipop 5.0 or newer. Who even uses Lollipop anymore? Seriously. Also, I read this security notice saying you need to be running rcloneExplorer 1.9.0 or newer to be safe. Always good to stay safe, right?
And get this, I saw something called FATXplorer. Apparently it’s the “ultimate Xbox” thing. No idea what it does, but, hey, it’s *an* explorer, right? Maybe it can help you explore your Xbox files? I don’t know, I’m just spitballing here.
But hey, if you’re not up for all that coding/apk installing craziness, you could just use an alternative file manager! Like, there are tons of them out there. I saw this one called xplorer² (yeah, with the little two in the exponent). It’s supposed to be all speedy and efficient, like a dual-pane file manager. Apparently, it combines the simplicity of Windows Explorer with the speed of those fancy orthodox file managers. Sounds… fancy.
And then there’s Q-Dir. Q-Dir, man. This thing can actually *clone itself*! Like, completely! With all the settings and everything! Or, you can just clone individual explorer views. I guess if you have a perfectly arranged folder layout and you just want to copy it to another drive, this could be useful? I dunno, seems a bit niche to me. Still kinda cool though.
Oh, and I almost forgot! There’s also this “OpenInternetExplorer” thing from AigioL. Don’t know what it does, but it sure sounds important!
