Nordstrom, Saks, The Outnet – they’re all practically throwing Givenchy hats at you! Beanies, trilbies (do people even wear trilbies anymore? I always picture some old-timey detective), scarves…okay, scarves aren’t technically hats, but hey, they’re in the mix. And let’s be real, a Givenchy scarf draped artfully around your neck *can* give off a kind of “I’m-so-chic-I-don’t-even-need-a-hat” vibe, ya know?
I saw something about Hubert de Givenchy’s “fashion legacy” – which, yeah, totally legit. The man was a legend. But I’m not sure if he was thinking of the street style that is currently popular. I am not sure what he would think of the hats that are trending.
Anyway, back to the hats. What’s the appeal? I think it’s the whole “effortless cool” thing. Like, you can be wearing the most basic outfit ever – jeans and a t-shirt – but throw on a Givenchy hat, and BAM! Suddenly you’re not just basic, you’re *designer* basic. And who doesn’t want to look designer?
The prices though… ouch. Definitely not “fraction of the price” type stuff for most of us. The Outnet probably has some steals, but you gotta be quick, and your size is never in stock, lol.
But honestly, even if I *did* have the cash to blow on a Givenchy hat, would I? Part of me thinks it’s a little try-hard. Like, are you *really* that into Givenchy, or are you just trying to show off? But then the other part of me is like…well, it *is* Givenchy. And it *would* look pretty amazing.
