See, I’ve been noticing a trend. While some people are still all about flaunting that iconic monogram (and hey, no judgment!), there’s this whole other vibe happening where it’s all about being, like, *understated*. Which, let’s be real, sometimes a giant logo just ain’t the look, ya know?
I was reading this thing online (or maybe it was a couple of things, my memory’s, like, goldfish-level these days) and it was talking about how Saint Laurent’s current stuff is basically trying to fill the shoes of Hedi Slimane. Big shoes. And it got me thinking, maybe this logo-less thing is part of that? Like, stepping away from the obvious and focusing on the quality and the design itself, rather than screaming “I’M YSL!”
And honestly, good for them! I mean, I’m not saying I *hate* the logo. It’s iconic for a reason. But sometimes, you just want something a little… quieter. I saw something about Saint Laurent Joan, I have no clue what that is exactly lol, but it sounds like it could be something without the logo?
Plus, and this is just my opinion here, the logo thing can be a bit of a minefield. I mean, apparently the YSL logo is super hard to replicate, which is why it’s one of the main things to check when you’re trying to spot a fake. So, going logo-less kinda eliminates that whole worry, doesn’t it?
I mean, I saw this other thing online, some random tote bag, and it says “YSL Big Logo” right in the title. Like, are we even paying attention anymore, or are we just buying brands?!
