And then it goes on about mammals and reptiles having, like, *two* olfactory systems? What?! I only got one nose. Are they talking about, you know, some secret smell-o-vision that only lizards and cats have? I gotta Google that later. It’s just kinda weird, though, because you’re like, “Okay, Prada, what does this HAVE to do with your *fragrances*?” Are they implying their scents are so complex they need two olfactory systems to fully appreciate them? That’d be kinda pretentious, but also, low-key, maybe kinda true?
See, that’s what gets me about these kinda high-end fragrances. It’s all about the story, the concept, the *experience*. It’s not just slapping some flowers and vanilla together, apparently. It’s…well, it *should* be more than that, anyway. I mean, you’re paying enough for it, right?
So, like, thinking about the “Prada Olfactories” part, I’m guessing they’re trying to tap into that whole, “I’m sophisticated and know about fancy smells” vibe. Which, fine. I’m not gonna lie, I kinda want to be that person. But the thing is, a perfume either smells good or it doesn’t. All the fancy olfactory system talk in the world isn’t gonna change that if it smells like, I dunno, grandma’s attic mixed with burnt rubber. (No offense to grandmas, okay? Some of them smell great!)
