I saw something about it being a “culmination of years of research and development.” Years? For jewelry? You’d think that’d be spent, y’know, perfecting the next It Bag. But maybe they’re taking this jewelry thing super seriously. Good for them, I guess. More bling for us!
And then there’s the whole “sustainability” angle. Ugh. I’m not usually one for that, but I suppose even fancy fashion houses need to jump on the bandwagon. Hopefully, it doesn’t just amount to slapping a “sustainable” sticker on a bracelet that was, like, mined by child labor or something. Just sayin’.
Honestly, I’m kinda curious. They’re saying their creative director, Matthieu Blazy, is “instrumental” in this. Which, like, duh. It’s *his* job! But what’s he actually *doing*? Is he sketching designs, or just, you know, giving the thumbs up to someone else’s work? I’d love to see some behind-the-scenes action.
The thing I’m most confused about? Swiss Movement. I didn’t see anything in that text about Swiss Movement. Like, is this a jewelry collection that has some sort of hidden watch component? Or is it just a marketing ploy to give the jewelry an appearance of superior engineering? If it’s the latter I’m kinda disappointed because I really did want to see some sort of micro-watch/jewelry combo.
